First Test Dates Set for Daytona

December 8th and 9th have been set as the first Daytona test dates as Team Seattle prepares for the 24 Hours of Daytona in January. Drivers Don Kitch Jr., and James Gue will be joining Team Seattle’s sister team, Dempsey Racing, for the test. The Team Seattle Mazda RX8 being constructed for Team Seattle will not be ready in time. That means Don and James will be sharing seat time with Patrick Dempsey, Joe Foster, and the other Dempsey Racing drivers in the car Dempsey drove in last year’s Grand Am Series. Kitch said: “Because this will be our first race in a Mazda it is important for James and me to get some track time before the January delivery of the new car. This is a familiarization tour as much as a pursuit for all out speed.” He said the new car is nearing completion and will be ready for the next round of testing in January.

Dempsey and crew say they are very excited about continuing the connection with the Team Seattle group after the very successful race at Le Mans last June.
