Donations Close to $250,000 as Race Nears
Almost $70,000 Raised in Faces, Names & Tote-Board Campaign
With more than 60 individuals and 5 companies joining the Faces & Names campaign, Team Seattle’s donation tally is inching close to the $250,000 mark as race weekend approaches. The pictures of 54 individual supporters, and the names of an additional 28 fans, will be placed on the team’s Mazda RX8 race car and will ride along in the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. The logos of 5 companies will also be on the car and the electronic Tote Board used to display a running tally during the race as Team Seattle raises money for Seattle Children’s Hospital.
Team Seattle’s goal of raising $500,000 for the pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at the hospital has been gaining momentum during the past week. In addition to the Faces & Names programs, special campaigns with prizes such as autographed pit-passes and driver photos have drawn interest from around the world. Donations have come in from all parts of the United States, from France, and from Singapore as well as other locations.
Corporations Joining the Team
Local corporations have also joined Team Seattle as excitement builds for the race. Jackson Dean Construction, SonoSite, Pogo Systems, and Wilson Tile will each have logos on the electronic tote board. There is still room for more corporate sponsors at this level and firms interested are asked to contact the race team at info@TeamSeattle.com.
More Contests On The Way
In response to the excitement generated by the previous contests, Team Seattle is working on more activities that will give donors opportunities to win prizes during the race weekend. The best way for fans to keep abreast of these opportunities, and team activities, is to follow Team Seattle either on Facebook or Twitter.
