Team Seattle 2nd @ Lime Rock
Team Seattle drivers James Gue and Leh Keen continue their march to the front with a strong second-place GT finish at the Memorial Day Classic at Lime Rock Park, Connecticut. This is the second podium finish for the #41 Mazda and provides strong momentum as the Team Seattle/Dempsey Racing team heads for New York and next weekend’s running of the Six Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen. The Dempsey Racing #40 driven by Joe Foster and Charles Espenlaub finished ninth. (Patrick Dempsey, the regular teammate of Foster, had a filming commitment that prevented him from making the race.)
Gue had qualified third in the GT class on Monday morning and he held the position through most of the first portion of the race. He was back in third when he handed the car over to Keen who moved up to second in GT and 11th overall by the end of the race.
It was a significant day in the team’s drive toward the 2010 Grand-AM GT championship. The second place finish moves the #41 car into 5th place in the championship standings, just 1 point out of 4, 2 points out of 3rd, and only 19 points out of first place.
The team will now prepare for qualifying at Watkins Glen on Friday and the six hour race on Saturday.
