January Test Days Report
Team Seattle returned from a successful Daytona test filled with confidence and excitement for all of the racing coming at the end of the month.
Team drivers Eric Blois, James Colborn and Andrew Newell, all demonstrated competitive pace in their collective first outing in the 2012 C360R Honda Civic at the historic Daytona International Speedway. The pairing of Blois and Newell in the No.73 car set almost identical lap times in the dry sessions and in true Pacific Northwest style laid down some of the fastest wet laps of the weekend in the rain soaked Friday sessions.
Joining the PRO3 trio of drivers was Andrew Jordan, current British Touring Car Independent’s Champion, who is partnering with Colborn in the No.77 car. Despite also being new to the car and track Jordan demonstrated fantastic pace throughout the weekend setting the fastest time of the whole weekend of any ST car on Sunday morning. Jordan didn’t drop out of the top 3 in every session. Colborn set competitive and consistent lap times throughout all sessions and with the 73 and 77 cars having strong outings the Team Seattle contingent has the opportunity to show well at the race later this month.
From a fundraising focus, the weekend also allowed for more of the fundraising activity to be solidified with both C360R and new partners Bimmerworld. While the finer details of the relationship(s) are still being ironed out, both cars will carry some form of ‘Heart’ livery and fans will be given an opportunity to support and experience two race teams at work during the Continental Tire Series Challenge race weekend.
Keep up to date with Team Seattle on Facebook and Twitter and be sure to follow our partners Bimmerworld and Compass360 Racing as they prepare to take on the mighty banking of the Daytona International Speedway.
