| How
Team Seattle raises money for Childrens Hospital
Be
on the winning team on January 26-27, 2008 by pledging your donation for each
lap Team Seattle completes. Our goal is to go to Daytona with over $1,000.00
per lap in pledges and to complete 700 laps. Team Seattle will field
two identically prepared Porsche 911/997GT3 Super Cup cars
in the 2008 Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona.
Your pledge will be based upon the most laps completed by one of the Team Seattle
cars, or the combined total of laps completed by both cars not to exceed 700 laps.
The Speed Channel will have racing coverage of the Rolex 24
starting Saturday then again Sunday Watch for the # 84 and # 85 Team
Seattle cars giving you an opportunity to be personal and up close with our drivers
and our mission. Check out the local viewing party
with fellow racing enthusiasts at Cafe Veloce Kirkland, WA from 10 AM on into
the night. Enjoy great food and libations while cheering Team Seattle on. Live
phone interviews with the team throughout the night. This fundraising
effort has made history as the most successful ever single-team motorsports charity
effort. In eleven
years, Team Seattle has donated over $2.7 million
dollars for the kids! Check out
this site and learn more about our "Racing for Children's"
fundraiser. |
This
Years Recipient In
2005, Team Seattle embarked on an ambitious endeavor - pledging $2 million to
Children's Cardiac Intensive Care Unit! This incredibly generous action started
with the establishment of the Team Seattle Endowment for Excellence in Cardiac
Intensive Care, supporting clinical and research activities for the Cardiac Intensive
Care Unit (CICU) at the hospital. To acknowledge the team's outstanding commitment,
Children's Hospital has named the CICU after Kami Renee Sutton, an inspiring heart
patient and racing enthusiast that has participated in the team's efforts since
the beginning. Children's
CICU is a world-class facility that needs the support of the community to continue
to provide excellent care to all children in need of their services. Did you know
that heart disease is the most common birth defect among U.S. infants? It affects
one in every 100 newborn babies, and yet very few heart centers around the world
have a dedicated CICU. We are fortunate to say that Children's cardiac program,
including the CICU is unmatched in the region offering the latest in life-saving
equipment, a highly skilled medical staff and a family-centered care approach
to all that they do. Team
Seattle is racing toward the finish of their $2 million CICU pledge, taking place
from 2005-2008. Thank you to our supporters for your past contributions and we
hope that you will all join us in this effort for Children's CICU. | | | | | | | | | | | |
